Living Sun Glass — Pattern License Policy

Thank you for choosing a Living Sun Glass pattern for your creative work. All designs are created by Samantha Calder and are protected by copyright. Purchasing a pattern grants you a license to use the design, not ownership of the artwork.

This page outlines what you may and may not do with the pattern, depending on the license purchased.

1. License Types

Each pattern includes one of the following licenses:

Personal Use License (Hobby License) — included with every pattern purchase
Commercial License — optional upgrade that permits selling your handmade glass pieces

2. Personal Use License (Hobby License)

This license is designed for hobbyists, personal projects, home décor, and gift-giving.

You MAY:

Create stained glass, fused glass, or mosaic pieces from the pattern
Keep your finished piece or give it as a gift
Resize the pattern to fit your project
Privately upload the file to Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, or similar software for your own cutting templates only

You MAY NOT:

Sell items made from the pattern
Share, forward, gift, upload, post, distribute, or resell the pattern file
Modify, alter, trace, or redraw the pattern to create new designs
Use the pattern in any medium other than stained glass, fused glass, or mosaics
Publish or share any digital files created from the pattern (SVGs, PNGs, DXFs, templates, etc.) on any public or shared platform
Upload files to Cricut Community, Silhouette public galleries, Glowforge libraries, Facebook groups, shared cloud folders, or any other public/shared system where the file can be accessed by others

To sell items made from the pattern, a Commercial License is required.

3. Commercial License

A Commercial License permits you to sell handcrafted glass pieces made using the pattern.

One Commercial License = permission to sell up to 100 finished pieces.
If you create more than 100, an additional license is required.

You MAY:

Sell up to 100 handcrafted stained glass, fused glass, or mosaic items
Photograph and promote your finished work
Resize the pattern as needed
Privately upload the file to Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, or similar software for your own cutting templates only

You MAY NOT:

Mass-produce or outsource production
Create derivative works or altered versions of the pattern
Share or redistribute the pattern file
Convert the pattern into digital products, templates, SVGs, kits, or other non-glass formats
Publish or share any digital files you create (SVGs, DXFs, PNGs, etc.) outside your own private cutting setup
Upload files to Cricut Community, Silhouette public galleries, Glowforge libraries, Facebook groups, shared cloud folders, or any similar public/shared system
Use Living Sun Glass photographs in your listings or marketing

4. Modification Rules

You may resize the pattern
You may NOT alter linework, remove or add elements, redraw the design, or combine it with other patterns to create new artwork

5. Redistribution & File Sharing

Pattern files and printed copies are licensed to one user only.

Under both license types, you may NOT:

Share files with friends, classes, studios, or groups
Post patterns online or upload them to cloud drives that others can access
Sell, gift, trade, or distribute the file
Include patterns in kits, classes, or bundles

If someone admires your piece, please share a link to the pattern product page — not the pattern file.

6. Craft Medium Restrictions

Your license covers the following mediums only:

Stained glass
Fused glass
Mosaic

Any other use (vinyl crafts, woodworking, resin, fabric, printables, POD items, etc.) requires additional licensing.

7. Tagging, Sharing & Community Features

Credit is never required, but always appreciated.

If you share photos or videos of your finished pieces online, I’d love to see them!

You can tag @LivingSunGlass (Instagram) or mention “Living Sun Glass” in your post. You may even be featured or reshared with my audience.

It’s a wonderful way to help other makers discover the design and to celebrate your beautiful work.

8. Optional Online Visibility

For Etsy, personal websites, or social posts, a small mention like “Pattern by Living Sun Glass” is appreciated but not required.

9. Frequently Asked Questions

Are the patterns copyright protected?

Yes. All artwork, linework, designs, and photos are copyrighted.

Can I sell items made from the pattern?

Yes — with a Commercial License (up to 100 pieces).

Can I resize the pattern?

Yes. Resizing is allowed; altering the design is not.

Can I use Cricut or Silhouette?

Yes — for private cutting templates only. Public uploads are not permitted.

Can I share the file with someone else?

No — each person must purchase their own copy.

Can I use the design for other crafts?

Only for stained glass, fused glass, or mosaics unless additional licensing is arranged.
